Last year, the 2016 is one of the best year in Jo Jung-Suk’s career. He won top awards from the festivals by the end of the year, the 2016 SBS Drama Awards and the 2016 Top Star Awards.
In just one day before winning the Top Excellence Awards for the Romantic Comedy genre in 2016 SBS Drama Awards, Jo was awarded Korean Top Star in 2016 Top Star Awards as reported by Yonhap News Agency. The 2016 The Night of Stars-Korea Top Star Awards was held on Dec. 29 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Central Seoul.
His co-star in the SBS drama “Jealousy Incarnate” Gong Hyo-Jin also received the award. Two directors of the recent box-office movies "The Wailing" and "Train to Busan," Na Hong-Jin and Yeon Sang-Ho also received the award in the award ceremony that span multiple segements. Actors Ju Ji-Hoon of "Asura," and “Luc-Key” Jo Yoon-Hee, "Phantom Detective" actors Lee Je-Hoon and young actress Shin Eun-Soo of "Vanishing Time" also received the awards in the movie segments.
While in the music industry, Lee Moon-Sae and the boy group INFINITE was the award recipients. Top Sports Star was awarded to swimmer Park Tae-Hwan who recently won three gold medals in the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships.
Jo’s latest drama “Jealousy Incarnate” has received many attention due to his acting and good chemistry with co-star Gong. His top performance also granted him Top Excellence Awards for Romantic Comedy genre in the 2016 SBS Drama Awards according to official release from the SBS.
Following his success in the “Jealousy Incarnate” his movie “My Annoying Brother” with the EXO member D.O. has also made the box-office list in Korea and overseas. The film reached the 1 million viewers in Korea within the first four days after its release on Nov. 23. The movie has also received a good reviews in China and North America.
