Main singer of Rainbow Ji-Sook said that she and the other former members of Rainbow remain good friends after the group was disbanded last November. They are also doing well and she also revealed future plans for her career.
She was the MC for the promotional event of the girl group of her agency DSP Media, April on Jan. 4 at the K-Art Hall in the Olympic Park, Seoul. According to report from Asia Today, she said that she talked to them before the event.
“They are doing well, and I just spoke to them,” she said. “They all have the plan of their own.”
Ji-Sook also voiced her concern about her junior group April as reported by Joong Do. She said that April reminded her of her younger self. She said that she wanted to support them as a seonbae (senior) should do to their hoobae (junior).
April is one of the remaining girl group from the entertainment agency DSP Media after dissolution of their two groups KARA and Rainbow. Debuted in April, 2015, hence the name of the group consist of six members Rachel, Chaewon, Chaekyung, Yena, Jinsol, and Naeun. DSP Media projected the group to be the next successful girl group after KARA, and Rainbow.
KARA was dissolved in DSP Media also formed a new girl group K.A.R.D which will have the former KARA member Heo Young-Ji as the hidden member of the group.
Meanwhile Rainbow was founded in 2009 and debuted with their single “Gossip Girl” as a new girl group. Within seven years before they broke up, Rainbow have released five EPs and two albums, one of the album is in Japanese. After seven years, DSP Media decided not to extend the contract of the group and officially broke the group on Oct. 28, 2016.
