The hit tvN drama, "Goblin", remains on the lead as it kept on being on the trend since 2017 started.
As reported by Koreaboo, the said drama which stars Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, and Yoo In Na kept on leading the ratings. Despite being a drama shown on cable TV, its Content Impact Index (CII) gained 287.8 on the second week of January making it the most viewed TV show in South Korea.
Last year, several news agencies have noted that the popularity of "Goblin" has surpassed the records of the KBS drama "Descendants of the Sun" which stars KBS-Daesang awardees Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. Experts are predicting that "Goblin" will also sweep several awards this year.
Soompi also noted that the ratings kept on increasing as the story unfolds every week. In actual fact, its episode 11 which was aired last January 6 garnered a whopping 17.2 percent.
"Goblin" kept on being on the lead above TV shows shown on free TV such as "Hwarang" and "Legend of the Blue Sea". Although "Hwarang" ranks high on its CII, it is still struggling to stabilize its ratings because of its counterpart on SBS which is "Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim" which led the Monday-Tuesday night ratings. Meanwhile, "Legend of the Blue Sea" will end next week which causes fans and viewers to anticipate it further until its finale.
There will be more and more reasons on why viewers should continue to watch for the upcoming episodes of "Goblin". As a short recap, Kim Shin already told Eun Tak about her fate if ever she chose not to remove the sword. Also, Kim Sun or mostly known as Sunny already remembered her past because of her kiss with the grim reaper. However, this kiss also led to her forgetting her memories with the grim reaper.
Catch the next episodes of "Goblin" every Friday and Saturday on tvN.
