Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park recently appeared on the January 18 airing of "Talking Street" and while she was there, the 32-year old talked about her insecurities while she was a part of the iconic girl group. Now, everyone knows how difficult it is to be an idol especially when the group you belong to is as big as 2NE1 so Sandara speaking and addressing her group's disbandment as well as her future in the Korean entertainment industry is bound to catch people's attention.
According to Koreaboo, Sandara first shared on Twitter that she would making an appearance on "Talking Street" and urged her fans and those who wished to hear her speak to come and watch their recording on the 18th of January at Hongdae. She also said that even though she isn't confident enough to speak publicly, she will find the courage to do so for the Blackjacks.
The interview is yet to be aired on the 25th but thankfully for everyone, a fan who was present during the recording shared what Sandara Park had talked about through a series of summarized tweets. According to the fan, Sandara began by detailing her life in the Philippines and the time she first met her fellow 2NE1 members CL, Park Bom and Minzy. The conversation took a turn when Sandara talked about her insecurities and shared how she felt like the least talented member of the group and that her role was mainly for a visual one.
She recounted a time they were on "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketch Book" wherein host Yoo Hee Yeol praised Minzy for her dancing, CL for her rapping and Bom for her unique voice while the compliment she had received was for her visuals and not her talent. She admitted to having cried on the rooftop of their dorm afterwards while her fellow 2NE1 members comforted her. There was even a time when she cried during a scene on 2NE1 TV after a director told them that they would freestyle a scene. CL, Bom and Minzy were all confident while Sandara admitted she only felt awkward and stressed. Luckily for her, she could rely on the support of her loving friends and group mates.
Allkpop had earlier reported that CL, Bom and Sandara will be coming together once again for a final song titled "Goodbye." Minzy, who had left the group early in 2016, did not participate.
Sandara Park teased the fans during her interview with "Talking Street" when she said she would sing a portion of their final song. However, fans were quite disappointed when she only sang the word 'goodbye.' Before the conclusion of the interview, Sandara was asked what stage name she would like to ask after being referred to as 2NE1's Sandara Park for seven years. Her answer definitely warmed everyone's hearts when she said that she would still like to be called 2NE1's Sandara Park because her group is the reason why she is in the industry today.
