The CW Network Announces Fall Lineup: ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Hart Of Dixie’ Change Nights Due To New Fantasy/Sci-Fi Shows

The CW network has released its Fall schedule. The CW has picked up a new vampire program, scheduling The Originals, a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, for Tuesday nights. The new vampire drama, starring fan favorites Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah of TVD's original vampire family, will be paired with The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural on the same night.

Reign, a new historical soap opera, will air on the CW on Thursdays at 9pm.

Reign will be loosely based on the history of Mary Queen of Scotts. The Washington Post wrote that Mary arrives in France with four friends as her ladies-in-waiting to marry the French Prince, Francis. However, the drama really kicks up when Francis is showed to be a 'ladies man,' and a love triangle forms with Mary, Francis, and Francis's "roguish" half-brother, Bash.

This placement will shift Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie to Mondays.

CW will use its successful Arrow, which premiered last year, to launch teen drama The Tomorrow People on Wednesday nights.

The Tomorrow People is about a genetically advanced race with supernatural abilities, including telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathic communication. This race is being hunted down by evil, paramilitary scientists called the 'Ultra'.

The Carrie Diaries, the Sex and the City prequel, will be relegated to a Friday slot.

A few things will start airing during the midseason. The six-episode final season of Nikita, in addition to new dramas Star-Crossed and The 100 will air at the midseason.

The CW will attempt a sci-fi update of the classic Shakespearean romance Romeo & Juliet with Star-Crossed.

The 100 is a sci-fi drama of 100 young troublemakers sent to a post-nuclear-war Earth to see if it is inhabitable.

CW president Mark Pedowitz said the new lineup is meant to broaden the network's 18 to 34-year-old audience.
