Shakira Leaves 'The Voice'; Shakira To Be Replaced By Former Judge Christina Aguilera

And the singing competition shake-ups continue! Shakira has confirmed that she will not be back for the next season of The Voice. Shakira cited motherhood and a burning need to get back to the studio as her reasons for not returning to the show. The woman Shakira replaced this season, Christina Aguilera, will return to her big red chair instead. Shakira said that her time on the show has been nothing but positive, but the international jetsetting is too much for an infant. She and soccer star Gerard Pique welcomed their first child last January, a boy named Milan.

"I really enjoyed The Voice, but I also have a musical career and I'm also a mother now and my poor baby's so tired flying such long distances. He already has more miles than any pilot," said Shakira. "So I think I have to give him a little break and we'll see what happens in the future."

Shakira said that she will begin work on her album that she was halfway through before having her baby and taking on The Voice gig. Carson Daly confirmed that Aguilera will be rejoining the judging panel for Season 5.

However, it's not entirely certain that Cee Lo Green will be coming back next season. Usher was only supposed to be a one season replacement for the singer, but Green has not finalized a contract yet and has undeniably less star power than Usher.

"I think they are working on a deal to be honest with you, and I don't think it has been finalized," said Daly. "It wouldn't surprise me if it was, sooner or later. It sounded like today it was like, 'Yeah, they are working on it,' which, usually those things work out, but I don't know."

The Season 4 finale will air on June 18.
