Big Hit Entertainment Website Hacking Update: Indonesian BTS Fans NOT The Culprit

Fans of BTS in Indonesia have been blamed for the hacking of Big Hit Entertainment's website. This however, is not true.

On Wednesday, Feb.22, Big Hit Entertainment's official website was hacked. As previously reported, BTS' MV for "Not Today" has been replaced by the TWICE's MV for "Knock Knock" that was under the "Notice" tab of the site

Because of a misunderstanding about the hacker/s real identity, Indonesian BTS fans have been blamed for the incident. This however is not true, according to Koreaboo.

A Koreaboo staff viewed the source code of Big Hit Entertainment's site and confirmed that the hacker's group name is "IDCA". Apparently, it stands for Indonesian Cyber Army.

This caused the misunderstanding among BTS fans, as they are also called ARMY. Other BTS fans are now blaming the Indonesian BTS fans for the site's hacking.

Koreaboo however, has been able to confirm that the "Indonesian Cyber Army" has NOTHING to do with BTS fans and that they do not represent the Indonesian ARMY. The hacker/s even has a blog that states "My name is IDCA, I'm from Indonesia. My Hobby is attacking, penetration testing all system." However, other hackers may also be involved in the hacking.

TWICE fans have initially denied the accusations that they were the ones behind the hacking. They also stated that the hacking was done to further increase the animosity already present between the two fandoms.

Others have also speculated that the recent hacking of Big Hit Entertainment's website was instigated by overly-attached TWICE fans. There is still however, no proof of this.

BTS fans agree to the theory of the hacking being done by outsiders, not fans of either TWICE or BTS. This is the outsiders' idea of creating tension between the fandoms.

Indonesian fans are now asking other BTS fans everywhere to understand and trust them. Indonesian fans are currently using the hashtag "#THAT_ISNT_INDONESIA_ARMY_FAULT_BUT".
