'Age of Youth 2' Confirmed By JTBC; Original Cast, Writer May Return

When "Age of Youth" completed its relatively short 12-episode run in JTBC last year, viewers immediately related to the stories of five lead female characters who are all dealing with issues that young people deal with in their twenties. It comes as a piece of good news that Season 2 of the show has been greenlighted.

Age of Youth is a series that revolves around five housemates who share a home called "Belle Epoque", a French term which means "Beautiful Era." The series has received mainly positive reviews for its excellent characterization and balance of the different personalities of the five leads. The drama also stands out from the rest of the dramas because of realistic story that audiences found relatable, a review by Respect Magazine indicated.

According to a report by Drama Beans, JTBC has confirmed that they are bringing back the loveable roommates Yoon Jin-myung, Jung Ye-eun, Song Ji-won, Kang Yi-na, and Eun-jae to depict the continuation of their stories from Season 1's ending. There is a strong possibility original cast members Han Ye-ri, Han Seung-yeon, Park Eun-bin, Ryu Hwa-young and Park Hye-soo will return for the sequel but this is yet to be confirmed by production.

Making fans more excited for the continuation is the involvement of Park Yeon-seon, who wrote the script for the show's original run. Park Yeon-seon, who also wrote Korean dramas "Wild Romance" and "Alone in Love" is known for taking time off in between projects before accepting new ones but it seems she is making an exception for "Age of Youth 2."

Because the project is still in the early stages, the synopsis is not yet available for the sequel nor are information about the number of episodes and other cast members. "Age of Youth 2" is reportedly targeting an air date in the latter part of the year.
