Jude Mariah Carey wow-ed audiences with her performance on Thursday's finale of "American Idol." The Twitter-sphere was not so easily impressed. Many claim that the singer barely moved in her tight-fitting dress, raising speculation that she lip-synched the performance.

The diva sang a medley of  "Vision of Love," "Make It Happen," "My All," "Hero," "We Belong Together" and her new single "#Beautiful" for the crowd.

As Mariah belted out the tunes, her body moved very little in the feathered gown. Twitter exploded with disappointed fans and claims that the performance was not live:

One Twitter user said: "Waited the entire season for @MariahCarey to perform and she gives us recorded watered down lip syncing.... she should be ashamed! #idol"

Another user said: "Mariah Carey was either lip syncing like a mofo or my tv is delayed... I'm betting on lip synching. #AmericanIdolFinale"

"Good Lord Mariah Carey lip syncing too. And not well. This is just sad. #idol," another said on the social media site.

According to Mariah's reps, her performance was live, reported The Huffington Post.

"ET can set the record straight as Mariah's reps tell us she absolutely sang the entire medley ... completely live! Not only that, but we hear she delighted the crowd in between live shots by singing additional hits," Entertainment Tonight said.

Other performances featured on the 12^th season finale of "American Idol" were Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and Psy, who sang his new single "Gentleman." Candice Glover was named "American Idol" in the finale.
