One well-known rule inside the K-pop business is that idols must not accept gifts from the fans. K-pop idols, like BLACKPINK's Jisoo may (sometimes) accept gifts at certain times, but most of the time idols are not allowed and must regretfully refuse them.
BLACKPINK's Jisoo has been captured politely refusing gifts from her fans in the recent months, reports Koreaboo. In a video uploaded on Dec. 3, 2016 by Twitter user JK B (@bojogo33), Jisoo can be seen refusing, but eventually accepting gifts offered by a fan.
Jisoo and other members of BLACKPINK were cornered inside a black van by their avid fans. Most of the fans have offered members of BLACKPINK gifts but they were forced to refuse them, unfortunately.
In the video, Jisoo was offered of what looks like a carton bag filled with goody gifts from a fan. It can be observed in the video that Jisoo really wanted to accept the bag, and also looking very upset because she knows she can't.
Jisoo, however, accepted a kitten-designed notepad from the fan. Jisoo also accepted a yellow box that contained what seemed like a small toy.
With this, it seems like K-pop idols are allowed to accept cheaper gifts, while expensive ones must be refused. This may be because of the "Kim Young Ran Law" that exists in Korea.
The "Kim Young Ran Law" states that anyone who accepts bribes of more than one million Korean Won may be jailed for at least 3 years, regardless of any given favors in return. The law was passed the National Assembly on March 3, 2015 despite the debates.
In other news, Jisoo hosted SBS's "Inkigayo" on Feb. 5 for the first time as an MC, reports Soompi. She performed beside Doyoung of NCT and Jinyoung of GOT7.
Jisoo then shared how she was still nervous being the show's MC. But because everyone looked after her so well, she was able to pull off being the show's host and hosted a bit more comfortably.
