Warriors Fans Killed: Suspects In Dark Colored SUV [UPDATE]

Two Warriors fans were killed by suspects in a dark-colored SUV Thursday in a shooting that occurred after the team’s playoff game. The incident happened at a crowded freeway.

Police described the incident as a shootout between two cars of people, which left two men dead in a Porsche dead. The driver was shot dead and the passenger was also killed when the Warriors fan left the car on Interstate 880 on Oakland.

NBC Bay Area reported that the passenger staggered out of the car and was struck by another car, but a conflicting report by San Francisco Chronicle indicated that the passenger was ejected when the car struck a media vehicle.

Both men who were killed were wearing Warriors clothing and police found playoff tickets for Thursday’s game in the car of the men, who police suspected were shooting at people in another vehicle. Witnesses of the shooting said that the other vehicle is a colored SUV. Thursday’s game between the Warriors and San Antonio Spurs saw the Warriors eliminated from the playoffs.

Oakland Police are looking for more information on how the Warriors fans were killed and are asking witnesses to come forward. They are also looking for surveillance video from the team’s arena to find more information about the killers.

According to the police, there were many potential witnesses who drove by the scene.

Andy Anderson, a fan who was leaving the game, said there “…were about 10 cars back when traffic just came to a stop.” He added, “We looked over, and there was a body in front of a white car on the freeway.”

After the Warriors fans were killed, police shut down the freeway for hours as they searched for shell casings and other evidence from the shoot out. It caused major traffic delays as the crowd filtering out of the Warriors game had to be diverted to other roads. The highway was finally reopened at 2:30 am on Friday, four hours after the game ended.
