Miley Cyrus Announces First Single From New Album; Cyrus Will Premiere "We Can't Stop" At Billboard Music Awards

After months of talking about all the new music she's making, Miley Cyrus is officially ready to drop the first track from her highly anticipated upcoming album. Cyrus has been teasing us for months about how "dope" her album is going to be, but will finally give fans a chance to hear it for themselves at the Billboard Music Awards. Cyrus will be performing her new song "We Can't Stop" at this Sunday's Billboard Music Awards. Cyrus shared the news on Twitter by posting a headshot of herself screaming in a sequined tube top with a message announcing the performance. She joins anticipated performances from Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez and is also slated to present at the show.

Although Cyrus has recently been featured on records from will.i.am and Snoop Lion, this will be her first solo venture in a few years and the LP will be her first studio album since Can't Be Tamed came out in 2010. The singer has since changed her image and made it clear that she's going for a different sound, so fans and critics alike will finally get the chance to hear what she's come up with.

The release of her new single comes hot off the heels of Miley being named Maxim's Sexiest Woman on the Hot 100 list. Although many don't agree with the magazine's decision, the announcement did help take some of the headlines heat off of Miley's reportedly failing relationship with fiance Liam Hemsworth. For months there's been speculation that the young couple is calling off the engagement, but just this week, Miley was photographed wearing her engagement ring.

Cyrus was a former Disney queen who starred on the hit TV show Hannah Montana. Her music career since then has included the No. 1 single "Party In The USA". Cyrus has also continued acting and even made a guest appearance as Ashton Kutcher's love interest on Two and a Half Men.
