Seohyun of Girls' Generation is reportedly considering an offer by MBC to play the female lead role in the network's weekend drama "Thief, Mr. Thief." The bulletin is announced by a source from MBC in Mar. 8. SM Entertainment also confirmed that the agency has been approached over the matter, and it is accordingly looking over it optimistically.
While her decision still remains uncertain, she has apparently been building up on her acting experience with her past appearances in "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" and "Ruby Ruby Love." The new MBC weekend drama, according to Soompi, is about thieves who aim to strike on individuals of the elite class who control Korea. The drama will reportedly air in May after the show "Father, I'll Take Care of You" finishes its run.
Seohyun, as reported by Wikipedia, is a South Korean singer and actress. She debuted as a member of girl group Girls' Generation in Aug. 2007. The girls became one of the best-selling artists in South Korea. Furthermore, they were also recognized as South Korea's most popular girl group worldwide.
Apart from her group's activities, Seohyun has established herself as an actress. She accordingly participated in the original and Korean versions of stage musicals. These shows include "Moon Embracing the Sun," "Gone with the Wind" and "Mamma Mia."
She also starred in the drama "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo." Seohyun debuted as a solo artist with her mini album, "Don't Say No" in Jan. 2017. This makes her the third Girls' Generation member to debut as a solo artist.
On the other hand, Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" has reportedly reached 1 million likes. Accordingly, this is on top of its impressive 184.7 million views. It is said that it hard for a girl group to get likes like that on video. Apparently, Black Pink was the sole girl group to have made it in "BOOMBAYAH".
