Gong Minzy Debuts As Solo Artist With New Single After 2NE1 Split

Gong Min-ji, an ex-member of the girl group 2NE1 that recently split, is in for some good times as she will debut in her solo career thanks to her recently released single. Minzi, whom she is better known of, has just released her very first single entitled, "I Wanted to Love". This is a soundtrack for the hit MBC drama, "Rebel: A Thief Who Stole the People".

According to Yonhap News, the producer of the soundtrack will be Snow Entertainment. Its own music video was also released right after the single's debut. The single was originally scheduled for a February release.

However, it was delayed as Gong Minzy was said to still be perfecting the song. Now that it has finally been out for the entire world to hear, it surely has a lot of effort put into it.

This is the very first time that she went solo, after her previous group, 2NE1 has just split. With this, it really is a game-changer for her as she is still in flying solo in the K-pop industry.

According to Korea Joongang Daily, Minzy decided to not renew her contract with 2NE1 and YG Entertainment due to the fact that she was a little bit disappointed with the minimal number of projects. This was also said to be one of the reasons why 2NE1 disbanded last November 2016. Now, Gong Minzy has signed a contract with Music Works Entertainment as she continues to hope for the best in her new solo career.

With all of these being said, Gong Minzy surely has a long way to go in her new career as a solo celebrity. But with her charm and innate talent in singing and dancing, it is very clear that she will be in for lots of successful projects in the K-pop industry.
