Gong Yoo is all set for his 2017 fan meeting overseas! The "Goblin" star is gearing up for his Asian fan meeting this spring, with official dates for the first two events.
Based on the report by Yonhap News, Gong Yoo's management agency confirmed the locations of his first two Asian fan meetings. He will start the meet-and-greet at the the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in Taipei on April 29. Then on May 5, he will to Hong Kong for the fan meeting at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
Aside from making his fans' dream come true, Gong Yoo also announced his plans to hold a charity event. The actor is planning to give back to society as all proceeds will go to those in need, Soompi reported.
The fan conventions are part of his overseas promotional tour for "Goblin," also called "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God." His agency Management Soop hopes that the events will make many of the fans' dreams come true just like the slogan of the event, "Live your dream, hear your dream, you are my dream."
Gong Yoo played Kim Shin, a 939-year old immortal goblin who is in search for his bride who can remove the sword he was killed with. The bride is the key for him to move to the afterlife and rest in peace.
Gong Yoo, who also starred in the zombie apocalypse thriller "Train to Busan," is on the top of his game. His movie topped local box offices not just in South Korea but neighboring Asian countries, particularly in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
According to AllKpop, his character doll from "Goblin" sets record sales in Korea and other countries. The doll was distrubted through claw machines in South Korea and overseas. Bonicrew, the doll company behind the "Goblin" dolls will open pop-up stores in Seoul to sell more "Boglegel" dolls.
