Gwyneth Paltrow Backtracks on Met Gala, Now Says The Met Gala 'The Most Elaborate Display Of Incredible Fashion' [Video]

Gwyneth Paltrow backtracks on her earlier comments about the Met Gala Bal when she said "I'm never going again," and it was "un-fun" by calling it the "most elaboroate display of incredible fashion," on her website, "Goop."

Paltrow backtracks from her earlier comments with USA Today after she called the star-studded event "un-fun" and said she's "never going again," and less than a week later championed the event.

The Academy Award winning actress and wife to Coldplay front man, Chris Martin, Paltrow backtracks in the newest newsletter issue of her editorial endeavor, Goop.

In the newsletter that went out yesterday, Paltrow backtracks from her earlier comments about the annual Met Gala Ball writing to subscribers about all the fun she had creating her dress. That Paltrow backtracks isn't a surprise as she met a lot of castigating critics after initially call out the fashion ball.

Here is how Paltrow backtracks in Goop:

"The Met Ball, at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art, is always the year's most elaborate display of incredible fashion and this year was no different. The theme was 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' and when the house of Valentino's Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri asked me to join them, I was thrilled to see what they would create with my right fashion hand, Elizabeth Saltzman.

We got all inspired in the goop office about punk making a comeback through subtle influence and thus, we asked one of my absolute favorite websites, the most excellently curated SSENSE, to show us how we could work it into our spring/summer wardrobes.

Love,

gp"

Paltrow backtracks so effectively, her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman also helped the Paltrow backtracks narrative going by saying "In thinking about what Gwyneth could wear, I didn't want her to show up in a costume. So this look is all about anarchy -- truly going against the grain and not wearing what everyone expects. That's about as punk as you can get."

Paltrow backtracks after she said in an interview with USA Today: "I'm never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all." That sounds like Paltrow backtracks alright, especially when you take her words earlier:

"Do you want me to be honest? It sucked ... You always think, 'oh my God this is going to be so glamorous and amazing' and then you get there and it's so hot, it's so crowded, everyone is pushing you. This year it was really intense, it wasn't fun."

Then combine them with her words in the Goop newsletter above. Paltrow backtracks after some celebrities, including, Chloe Sevigny, who said in an interview with New York Magazine "Maybe her sleeves were too tight?" turned against the actress.

It remains to be seen whether Paltrow backtracks on her earlier decision to break up with Brad Pitt.
