K-Pop idols commonly have their own official fanbase to offer them a bottomless amount of support. However, there are fans who are just too obsessed to the point that they're pretty much willing to do anything to get close to their biases. These overly-militant fans are called Sasaengs.
Sasaengs have been K-Pop idols' primary concern when it comes to their private affairs. Many of these hardcore fans were often found to spend the night near their biases' residency or just simply stalk them everywhere they go. Here are some of the craziest things that Sasaengs have done to their biases.
1. EXO
EXO has millions of fans around the world. Many of them are known for their extreme behaviors towards the members that sometimes result in a criminal offense. There was one time when sasaengs rented a van that's very identical with EXO's van that was parked in front of their residency. Luckily, EXO's managers quickly noticed something was off so Suho and company can be rescued immediately before they stepped into the doomed van.
2. Big Bang's G-Dragon
G-Dragon was one of the K-Pop idols who had enough with sasaengs invading his personal life. To give them a warning, the idol even tweeted that he indeed couldn't stand to pretend that he didn't notice some of his hardcore fans camped out of his house. He stressed that those sasaengs have made his mother and sisters scared.
3. Girls' Generation's Taeyeon
Taeyeon was almost kidnapped by a mysterious man when she performed on stage with her group. The mysterious man pulled her away and tried to abduct her before he was tackled by some guys in the backstage. Taeyeon obviously felt traumatized that she couldn't hide her fear and confusion. Another idol that has experienced the same thing is INFINITE's Dongwoo.
4. Jaejoong
Former TVXQ member probably had it the worst. Jaejoong had been the victim of a crazy sasaeng who sneaked up to his hotel room two times. The crazy fan took a picture of Jaejoong while he was sleeping and even kissed him.
5. Taecyeon
Taecyeon may still be traumatized because of what a sasaeng did to him. It was reported that a sasaeng sent him a menstrual pad and a letter written in blood saying "You can't live without me". The crazy fan later apologized and admitted that she's indeed obsessed with Taecyeon. Oddly enough, she didn't want to be called sasaeng.
These straight up crimes from people claiming as fans can't be considered as an act of support. Just keep in mind that the idols are still human beings with a personal life that should be respected.
