Manti Te’o joked at the Maxim party about his imaginary girlfriend at the “Hot 100” party. He may never be able to erase the hoax that got him more headlines than his playing, but at least he can play with his image.

Maxim Magazine usually adds a little humor to their hot list and this year was no different. Maxim recently put Manti Te’o’s imaginary girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, on their list of the 100 Hottest Women in the World list. Kekua placed at number 69, the loft position that was held last year by a bikini-clad Stephen Colbert. Lennay Kekua was depicted as what looked to be an invisible woman wearing a swimsuit. Maxim wrote underneath the picture, "After Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend hoax of 2012, we think it might be nice to have an invisible girl of our own to love. Why not? She's got a ton of great qualities, including looking awesome in a bikini."

Compounding the joke, when Maxim threw its annual party hosting the hotties, they invited Manti Te’o to the party to represent his faux femme. The former Notre Dame linebacker showed that he was in on the joke by putting in an appearance at the Maxim 100 party at Hollywood’s Create nightclub to support his girlfriend.

Dan Bova, editor-in-chief of Maxim, said, "It seems like he has a good sense of humor about the whole thing, which I think is the best way to handle a situation like that."

When the editor of the men’s lifestyle magazine thanked the San Diego Chargers’ second round pick for showing up at the party, Te'o grinned and “Are you kidding? This is great.”

Months ago the world found out that the hot hoax, Lennay Kekua, who Te’o had said was sick, who Te’o credited for inspiring him to play, who Te’o said died and devastated him, was actually made up by Te'o's friend Ronaiah Tuiasosopo. The invisible temptress, who Te’o said died on Sept. 11, 2012, of leukemia, the same day as his grandmother, still managed to beat out real-life hotties Jessica Chastain, Hoda Kotb, and Zooey Deschanel.

Te'o claimed that he didn't know about the hoax. He said that he thought Kekua was real for all the years they were going out.

Of course, the real joke may be that Maxim named Miley Cyrus as the number one sexiest woman in the world.
