Chad Johnson in custody now under the Broward County after violating his parole probation. An arrest warrant was released days ago, but he did not appear to the court immediately, thus putting Chad Johnson in custody now. The 35-year old NFL player was allegedly reported to have multiple violations on his parole, which caused him to be arrested by the police.

The probation Johnson got stems from his case in August of last year. Johnson was arrested because of a domestic battery that was filed against him by his then wife, Evelyn Lozada who is a reality television star. The NFL player received one year of probation last September after not contesting to the charges made by her wife. According to the report, Johnson headbutted Lozada during an argument about the box of condoms the ex-wife saw in Johnson's car. Lozada also filed a divorce which was settled just days before Johnson got convicted.

Johnson only went to the court today, May 20, and with this late appearance he made, the court decided to put Chad Johnson in custody immediately and send him to jail. It was reported that Johnson failed to meet the terms of his parole probation, and that included not attending scheduled meetings with his parole case officers during the Month of February and March.

The football athlete said he did not purposely skip the meetings with the officers and it was just a misunderstanding. However, the judge did not believe his claims, deciding to put Chad Johnson in the custody of the police. The judge also put a 1000 USD bond on Johnson. For the violation he had committed over the probation terms, the prosecutors were asking the judge to sentence the player with 2 months or 60 days of jail time, but this decision will not be released yet until June 3.

Johnson has not yet played professionally after this incident. After he got arrested, he was immediately cut from playing for his team, the Miami Dolphins.
