Donald Trump's Chicago Lawsuit Reaches Court Today; Trump Shouts Over Opposing Lawyer As 87-Year-Old Woman Rebukes Real Estate Billionaire

All-Star Celebrity Apprentice concluded last night, but Donald Trump is still finding himself facing a judge in Chicago as he faces a lawsuit from an 87-year-old woman. Donald Trump's Chicago lawsuit comes from Jacqueline Goldberg, who alleged that Trump International Hotel and Tower reneged on financial incentives promised to early investors in the luxury downtown development. During the second day of the trial, Trump shouted over Goldberg's lawyer Shelly Kulwin in making his points, while Kulwin simply continued to raise his voice.

Finally, Trump's Chicago lawsuit reached a boiling point when U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve dismissed jurors from the courtroom and reprimanded both Trump and Goldberg.

"You've been dancing around and boxing with each other for the last 45 minutes," she said. "... You've got to stop it. Let's get control of ourselves."

Trump repeated throughout his testimony that a clause in the contract allowed him to change plans. He accused Goldberg's Chicago lawsuit as fraud, claiming that she was scamming him in order to keep her $500,000 deposit and "playing the age card" in order to win sympathy from voters.

"She's trying to rip me off," Trump said in a matter-of-fact tone. "She really is. She concocted the whole situation."

Goldberg, a financial planner and real estate developer, contends that she carefully investigated the purchase of the two units at Trump as long-term financial investments after learning of the development. Among the incentives to buy was the promise that purchasers of "hotel units" would share in $5 million in profits from meeting rooms and ballroom rentals, but she claims that the incentives changed when she finally closed on the deal in 2006.

"She comes from a different era ... where people like Donald Trump didn't exist. She comes from an era where a deal was a deal," Kulwin said.
