Cha Joo Hyuk Indicted For Using Ketamine, Ecstasy, & Marijuana in 2016

Actor-turned idol Cha Joo Hyuk has been charged with possessing and also using ecstasy and marijuana. The idol allegedly purchased the drugs in 2016.

According to Koreaboo, the prosecution has filed an indictment versus the idol Cha Joo Hyuk. The prosecution stated that the idol bought 28 grams total of marijuana and 0.3 grams of the party drug ecstasy in April of 2016.

Soompi also reported that Cha Joo Hyuk purchased 3 marijuana joints from a woman referred only as Ms. Kang in March 16. The idol then allegedly smoked the marijuana sticks in his car at a basement parking garage.

Cha Joo Hyuk was also accused of buying 7 weed joints and 6 ecstasy tablets in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This happened in July of 2016.

Cha Joo Hyuk was refused to enter Canada in August of 2016. Allegedly, the idol tried to smuggle ketamine into the country. Ketamine, like ecstasy, is also considered as a dangerous party drug.

Cha Joo Hyuk was also accused of doing ketamine in August of 2016. The idol was tested and was confirmed to have used up ketamine, ecstasy, and marijuana.

South Korea's law against cannabis, commonly known as marijuana or "weed" is among the strictest in the planet. A South Korean police has the right to stop a random person on the street and test them for using drugs - and all they need is a single hair strand.

Using the hair, drug use can be detected as far back as three years. If a Korean is tested THC positive, he will be arrested regardless of where he used the drug.

Cha Joo Hyuk was a former member of the co-ed group "COED SCHOOL" under Core Contents Media. The idol was accused of raping a woman in before he debuted and thus left the group in 2011.
