With their loyal fan base and massive international recognition, it's not impossible if the top-selling group of the year will gain an even greater success. Just recently, Big Hit Entertainment has confirmed BTS will be attending Billboard Music Awards on May 21.
According to Korea Boo, the president of Dick Clarks Production, Mike Manahan, who's in charge for Billboard Music Awards, just sent out an invitation for Rap Monster and friends to join in the prestigious music awards in Las Vegas. Mike Mahan confirmed on Twitter his party has sent the invitation to BTS after a fan asked him personally.
BTS' loyal fans, ARMY, have helped the group to gain global recognition through social media over the years. As of now, ARMY has put their utmost effort to help the group wins the Top Social Artist on Billboard Music Awards. Worldwide ARMY recently trended Twitter with 8 million tweets of BTS for Billboard Music Awards hashtags since the first day of voting, as per Korea Portal.
Now that BTS has confirmed to attend Billboard Music Awards, the prominent K-Pop group will be sharing the stage and red carpet with American's sensations like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Rihanna. The group is also fighting to win over the Top Social Artists award from Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. The voting will be closed on May 21, the day of BBMA event.
BTS truly deserves to be nominated in the category of Top Social Artist. While the group's YouTube viewership is now officially the highest, BTS recently scored the number 1 spot of Tumblr's K-Pop fandometrics list.
Meanwhile, BTS has just signed for another overseas event, Music Bank World Tour 2017 in Singapore. BTS will be performing at the August 4 event with SHINee, CNBLUE, MAMAMOO and Red Velvet. "Reply 1988" actor, Park Bo Gum will be hosting the show with Red Velvet's Irene.
