The BTS worldwide success has given them a ticket to be at the Billboard Music Awards. The Bangtan Boys will be in Las Vegas on May 21 for the awarding ceremony.
As reported by Soompi, BTS' agency Big Hit Entertainment confirmed on Tuesday, May 9 that the boys will be attending the Billboard Music Awards on May 21. The ceremony will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
BTS have been nominated for the Billboard category "Top Social Artist". The winner will be chosen based on the number of album and as well as digital sales.
The number of streaming, radio broadcasts, and performances will be included in the criteria for winning. Social media involvement from March 18, 2016, to March 16, 2017, will also be included in the judging criteria.
Aside from BTS, American artists such as Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendez, Justin Bieber, and Selena Gomez were also nominated for the "Top Social Artist" category. Hopefully, BTS wins the said category.
BTS just wrapped up their North American leg of their "BTS Wings Tour". The boys said their appreciations via their agency.
"It feels like a dream to be invited to the Billboard Awards, where only successful international artists get invited," said the BTS boys. "This is all thanks to ARMY all over the world. Thank you so much. It's a huge honor to be invited to the ceremony."
The BTS boys are now currently on the Asian leg of their Wings tour. The group was recently in the Philippines to perform for their Filipino fans.
The event was reported to be successful as all the tickets were sold during the opening day of ticket sales. As reported by Manila Bulletin, tickets were made available on April 2 and were almost instantly sold out the same day!
BTS' most recent concert in the country was by far the best compared to their previous ones. The group's first time in the country was in 2014 for "Red Bullet" and in 2016 for "Epilogue".
