The Linkin Park frontman surprised the audience at the KROQ Weenie Roast event in Los Angeles when he performed as the new lead vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots.

Chester Bennington, the Linkin Park frontman performed a new music titled "Out of Time" together with the Stone Temple Pilots, along with other old records they played such as the Vasoline and Sex Type Thing.

Linkin Park frontman said in a statement that he really loved Stone Temple Pilots ever since he was 13 years old and the band had a big influence on him. Good news for the fans of Linkin Park, Bennigton also emphasized in his statement that he will still be working with his popular band, still as the lead vocalist. In fact, Linkin Park is very supportive of Bennington's new project.

Chester Bennington also said that when this opportunity came to work with STP, he immediately grabbed the chance especially because it allows him to be creative. The guitarist from the Stone Temple Pilots, Dean De Leo, expressed his opinion about Chester saying that the Linkin Park frontman has a very unique voice that the band has admired for such a long time. Eric Kretz and Robert DeLeo are the other members of Stone Temple Pilots.  

What happened to the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots? There were reports early this year that the band's frontman, Scott Weiland is not getting along really well with the other member of the band but his statement about his firing suggested that there was amicable separation between him and the band.

Weiland said in his statement, "Not sure how I can be "terminated" from a band that I founded, fronted, and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that's something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday."

Meanwhile, for the fans of the Linkin Park frontman and the STP band, the next gig of Stone Temple Pilots with their new lead vocalist Chester Bennington is happening on May 30 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
