Idols often receive harsh criticism when it comes to acting. Girls' Generation member, Seohyun also feels the same way recently following the release of the new MBC drama "Bad Thief, Good Thief".
Seohyun stars as a lead character on the 50-episode-drama, which is also the first time in her acting career. In this drama, Seohyun plays the role of a brilliant detective named Kang So Joo. Seohyun's character will unfold the story of professional thieves and vigilantes who will reveal the small group that is secretly running the country.
On the press conference held on May 12, Girls' Generation's Seohyun opened up about how she handles the criticism people have been pouring out. According to Soompi, Seohyun never finds the criticism something that will let her guard down. Instead, she thinks the criticism is necessary to motivate her to work harder in the next projects.
"I actually think there has to be criticism. I haven't filmed a lot as an actress, so I find it reasonable," said the 25-year-old singer and actress.
Allkpop mentioned that Seohyun is the third member of Girls' Generation to join the MBC family after Sooyoung and YoonA. When asked if she ever discussed viewership ratings with her bandmates, Seohyun said she, YoonA and Sooyoung never talked about their respective individual promotion as an actress. However, Girls' Generation members always take the time to support each other via a group chat.
"Bad Thief, Good Thief" airs its first episode on May 13. The drama is starred by Ji Hyun Woo, Seohyun, Im Joo Eun, and Kim Ji Hoon. "Bad Thief, Good Thief", written by Son Young Mok and Cha Yi Young, follows the story of thieves who cause damage to a small, powerful group that secretly runs and manipulates South Korea. The MBC's new drama takes over weekend time slot, which was previously occupied by "Father, I'll Take Care of You".
