With "My Sassy Girl" star Joo Won set for military enlistment, his fans are wondering what his girlfriend BoA may have told the actor before his mandatory service commences. The actor begins his military service on May 16.
According to a report by Soompi, Joo Won and BoA are not plagued with issues like separation anxiety and are talking his upcoming enlistment in stride. The actor has recently completed filming for the Korean drama adaptation of the cult classic rom-com "My Sassy Girl" on SBS which will premiere this May.
Joo Won said that his girlfriend is super cool about his enlistment and only wanted him to come back safely. "BoA told me that while [my service] may feel long on one hand, on the other hand, it isn't such a long time. She told me to come back well and healthy," he said.
Joo Won and K-pop star BoA confirmed their relationship early this year through the actor's agency Huayi Brothers. It was reported that the couple started seeing each other in the second half of 2016 and they were brought together by a common love for outdoor activities like hiking and golf and a shared taste in music.
According to a report by Popcrush, rumors speculated that the pair may have been brought together by their common friend TVXQ's Yunho. Many of their friends praised their relationship as cute and heartwarming since the way they cherish each other is a wonderful thing to see.
Joo Won attended the press conference for "My Sassy Girl" and fielded questions from the press about his new and final drama before he returns to acting in two year's time. "My Sassy Girl" revolves around the same concept as the original film starring Jun Ji Hyun and Cha Tae Hyun but the TV reboot will be in a historical setting. Oh Yeon Seo will take on the titular role while CNBLue's Lee Jung Shin will play Joo Won's rival for the affection of Oh Yeon Seo's character Princess Hyemyung.
