Zach Galifianakis Saves Homeless Woman, Brings "Hangover" Premiere; Woman Is "Looking Forward to It"

Funnyman, Zach Galifianakis, saved his homeless friend and is taking her to "Hangover III" premiere.

Two years ago when actor Zach Galifianakis found out his friend Elizabeth "Mimi" Haist was down on her luck, Zach Galifianakis got her an apartment, started paying her rent and started taking her to red carpet events according to the New York Daily News.

Zach Galifianakis met Haist back in L.A. when Galifianakis was just starting his comedic career in the early 90's. Haist worked at a laundry mat and depended on tips for her income.

Once Galifianakis became aware of Haist's need for help, the bearded comedian swooped in and saved the day.

Galifianakis also introduced Haist to actress, Renee Zellweger, but Haist was unfamiliar with the actress at the time. Zellweger decorated Haist's apartment and buys her groceries.

But Zach Galifianakis' good deeds don't end with a life-saving pick-me-up for a friend. Zach Galifianakis is known to support many charities and is one of the celebrity ambassadors for the Stand Up To Cancer foundation.

He has also participated in the "The Hangover" poker charity event in Las Vegas.

According to Bornrich.com, Zach Galifianakis plans on using his North Carolina home as a music school for underprivileged kids.

Zach Galifianakis' net worth is around $15 million dollars.

Galifianakis is married Quinn Lundberg, co-founder of the Growing Voices charity, at the UBC Farm in Vancouver, British Columbia.

With all the excitement buzzing around for the upcoming premiere, it sounds like Haist is more than ready. "I'm looking forward to it, I like the excitement of it," said Haist according to the New York Daily News.

Galifianakis took her to the opening nights for both "The Hangover Part II" and "The Campaign."
