Are Justin Bieber and Chris Brown best friends now? The star musicians were both featured together in a recent Justin Bieber Instagram pic, with both stars recently having broken up with their famous girlfriends: Selena Gomez and Rihanna.

The "Boyfriend" Crooner, and Selena Gomez on-again-off-again boyfriend, Justin Bieber, and "Breezy" singer Rihanna ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, were snapped together with Chris Brown's arm around the diminutive Canadian pop singer, Bieber. 

The tattoo-clad Chris Brown and the recently-tatted Justin Bieber look like good friends in the shot. Bieber is wearing a gold chain around his neck with a black v-neck, and he's pointing to Chris Brown like he's star-struck by the Rihanna-ex. 

Chris Brown, for his part, has his arm around Bieber's scrawny shoulders and a white t-shirt, showing off all arm tattoos. Chris Brown's nonchalance in the photo, which was uploaded to Bieber's Instagram account today, presents an interesting dichotomy with Bieber's 'Look who it is' countenance. 

When Justin Bieber added the pic with Chris Brown to his Instagram account, he wrote a simple caption: 

"CB what's up."

The 19-year-old Bieber had a rough Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards, despite getting to do a little smooching with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez while the two were backstage; although, Taylor Swift didn't seem to enjoy it.

Justin Bieber was booed during his performance, and tweeted the day after the show that he was "gonna take some time."

After a whirlwind world tour, Justin Bieber seems burned out, and his recent headlines concerning monkeys, marijuana and ex, Selena Gomez, might be taking a toll on the small pop star. 

During his acceptance speech after being granted Billboard's Milestone Award, Justin Bieber was loudly booed by the audience in Las Vegas. He took the time to speak directly to them and to Bieber's "haters."

"I'm 19 years old. I think I'm doing a pretty good job. Basically, from my heart, I really just want to say, it should really be about the music, it should be about the craft, the craft that I'm making. This is not a gimmick. [...] I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously, and all this other bull should not be spoken of."

The boos and the tumultuous relationship with the equally young and inquisitive Selena Gomez is nothing to compared to what might happen if he starts hanging out a lot with Rihanna ex, Chris Brown. While the Instagram pic doesn't mean they're smoking cannabis together and going to clubs, it might dismay some Bieber fans that he's even associating with Chris Brown, who famously pled guilty to assaulting his girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009. 

It remains to be seen what Chris Brown and Justin Bieber are up to next, but for now, they're without Rihanna and Selena Gomez by their sides, and taking comfort in each other's company.
