Xbox One Specs Emerge: Comprehensive List: Will Come With Kinect, Game-Swap, Snap Mode, Smart Glass; "Used Games" Concept Of Past

The newest Xbox is called Xbox One. Specs on it are emerging slowly. The console will be out later this year. News was released at a Microsoft event in Seattle today detailing the Xbox One, whose code name is Durango.

The Xbox One will have a "relationship" with the television. Users will be able to use voice commands on the console with the Kinect 2.0 which will ship packed with the Xbox One.

"Achievements will become dynamic and changing. They tell your personal story of how you play, not just what you've done," a statement said.

Smartphones and tablets will be seamlessly integrated into Xbox One via SmartGlass, another integral part of the Xbox One, according to Microsoft.

The console will not be "always-on", but will restrict used games.  It will not require an Internet connection, but many games will be released from developers via cloud computing that requires Internet connections to play them.

The online platform will be huge, at a whopping 300,000 servers.  Gamescores will be carried over. "Snap mode" will allow users to change to other programs and multitask. Another neat feature is Xbox Trending, which will show what's trending on Xbox Live. Microsoft called the feature "the beginning of truly intelligent TV."

Users will be able to swap and share games online through a unique program Microsoft is developing for the Xbox One. Games will still be installed. That said, the concept of "used games" is, in some ways, a thing of the past. Once a game is downloaded, it will sync with the Xbox Live account wirelessly.

The Kinect, which already syncs with the Xbox 360, will also change. One signifigant change is that it will be a mandatory accessory rather than optional. For the Xbox One to work, the Kinect 2.0 will have to be in existence, plugged in, and calibrated.

In some ways, this is good news, because developers can build more advanced games knowing that the mandatory camera will be present. If consoles have cameras, the peripheral structures possible expand in kind.

The basic specs are the following: 8GB RAM, Blu-ray, WiFi direct, 500 GB HDD, USB 3.0
