BLACKPINK is ready to drop its new album this month. The girl group debuted in 2016 reportedly will make a comeback following G-Dragon.
YG Entertainment confirms the new via Korea Herald on June 5. The representative stated that YG hasn't confirmed the exact date of the release yet, but the group is expected to launch its new album sometime in mid-June. Since YG Entertainment has confirmed the news, BLACKPINK is the next YG artist to make a comeback, following BIGBANG leader, G-Dragon who is releasing his next solo album on June 8.
BLACKPINK's comeback this month will mark the group's return after the release of "Square Two" seven months ago. Meanwhile, according to Allkpop, BLACKPINK is reportedly planning to film its MV this week. However, it's still unclear where the filming location will be.
Besides making a comeback this month, BLACKPINK is set to embark on its debut in Japan in July. The Japanese debut will start with a showcase at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan arena on July, 20. BLACKPINK 's Japanese debut EP, which will include hit tracks like "Playing with Fire" and "Stay", will then be released on August 9.
Jisoo, Jennie Kim, Lisa, and Rose will also attend Japanese summer festival, A-Nation 2017, on August 26-27. With the hectic schedule coming, fans are worried the group will not have sufficient time to proportionally promote in Korea.
Since the debut with the hit single "Square One", BLACKPINK has emerged as the rising star in the K-Pop industry. The K-Pop quartet has collected more than 100 million views for hit singles like "Whistle", "Boombayah", and "Playing with Fire".
Besides BLACKPINK and G-Dragon, YG Entertainment is preparing a comeback solo promotion for Taeyang. YG has yet to confirm the official date of Taeyang's comeback, but it will most likely take place by the end of this month.
