'Produce 101' Season Two Is Rumored To Have Only 20 Trainees For The Final Round

"Produce 101" season two is about to have the third round of elimination on the upcoming episode and they will keep 20 trainees for the final round. Unlike season one which kept 22 trainees for the final round, this season Mnet decided to keep only 20 trainees.

Based on new outlets, Mnet planned to keep only 18 trainees for the final round but they ended up with 20 trainees because of who #20 was. The news was merely based on rumors and answering to it, Mnet just said that people should just watch the new episode on Jun. 9, AllKpop reported.

Previously, the remaining 35 trainees just had an intense concept battle in a group with the chosen songs were "I Know You Know," "Showtime," "Open Up," "Never," " and "Oh Little Girl," Soompi reported. Some trainees were shocked by the result on onsite votes because some were dropped and some climbed up the rankings. The winning team for the concept battle was "Open Up" team and the members received some additional points. The first place on "Open Up" team who received more additional points wasn't revealed yet and it will be announced on the next episode.

The candidates of the first place on onsite votings were Kang Daniel and Kang Dong Ho from "Open Up" team. They need to wait for the next episode to know the result of their rankings. Meanwhile, some trainees may climb up or drop their rankings when their score is added by online votes. Like what happened in the previous round of elimination, there might be some twists on the rankings.

It will be more challenging if there are only 20 trainees on the final round of "Produce 101" season two. Also, there will be more heartbreaking moments when some trainees need to leave the show. Viewers need to wait until this Friday to know more about the result and about the third round of elimination.
