After the massive success of tvN's 'Goblin,' OCN is set to embark on its new supernatural drama entitled 'Black.' 'Saimdang, Light's Diary' actor Song Seung Heon are reportedly in talks to take on the lead role for the thriller.
According to Better ENT, Song Seung Heon's agency Better ENT has announced that the actor has received an offer to play the lead role in the OCN drama. "Hwarang" actress Go Ara is also said to be in talks to take the lead female role in the supernatural thriller, DongA Sports reported.
Early reports from Drama Beans hinted that Song Seung Heon's role will be the basis of the series' title "Black." The site said that Song Seung Heon will play the character of a grim reaper who adopts the body of a man but jeopardizes his powers by falling in love with a human. He will be punished when all traces of him are erased from everyone's memory.
Further descriptions of Song Seung Heon's character named Han Moo-kang also peg the character as a man who suffers deeply when his secret comes out. This will cause him to shift his personality from an outgoing and happy man into someone who never flinches even at the sight of gory crime scenes.
Seong Seung Heon's character will also be known in the drama as "Grim Reaper of Criminals" or "Man in Black." It may be that his grim reaper character would be in charge of collecting the souls of crime victims or criminals themselves.
Meanwhile, very little is known about the character that is being offered to Go Ara. The actress is reportedly reviewing the role but early reports have hinted that she may be inclined to take on the role.
OCN's new supernatural drama "Black" will be written by "God's Gift - 14 Days" writer Choi Ran and "Voice" PD Hong Sun who have proven their mettle in handling supernatural dramas. "Black" is expected to air this October.
