Brad Pitt Slams Jennifer Aniston Marriage As She Plans Second Nuptials

Brad Pitt opened up about his marriage to Jennifer Aniston with Esquire, even as she prepares to wed fiancé Justin Theroux.

Pitt, 49, admitted to overcoming a period of denial that spanned his five-year marriage to Aniston.

"For a long time I thought I did too much damage-drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired," said the actor.

"I spent years f-ing off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany."

Before Pitt met "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star and wife Angelina Jolie in 2003, Aniston seemed to be part of the problem.

"I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself," he said.

"I think that my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

But Jennifer Aniston may have long moved past her history with Pitt. According to MStar News, her engagement with actor Justin Theroux is fast approaching the wedding bells, with some even conjecturing that the "Friends" star is pregnant.

Theroux allegedly partied with friends in New York City last week, with some believing it to be a bachelor party for the groom-to-be.

Aniston and Theroux announced their engagement August 12 of last year.
