Although divorced in 2005 and currently involved with actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie, actor Brad Pitt has had much to say on the state of his marriage to actress Jennifer Aniston over the years.

Most recently in an interview with "Esquire" magazine, Pitt had less than great things to say about Aniston and their four year marriage.

"I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired," Pitt said.

"I followed that other thing. I spent years f***ing off but then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany."

The actor publicly admitted to drug use due to being "unhappy and unfulfilled".

"I spent the 90's trying to hide out trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. It wigged me out a bit. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was so intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to Anniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

Pitt told "Esquire" of his life now, "I have a handful of close friends and I have my family, and I haven't known life to be any happier."

"I always thought if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house. There's constant chatter in our house, whether it's giggling, screaming, crying or banging . . . I love it. I hate it when they're gone."

Some are wondering why Pitt feels the need to continuously bash his previous relationship with Aniston when he claims to be so happy with Jolie.

"The question here is what is Brad Pitt's intention? Is it self-indulgence, introspection, an attempt to help others or an attempt to blame Jennifer Aniston? Again while his honesty and revelation is helpful to the public, it can be really harmful and painful to Jennifer," human behavior expert, Patrick Wanis PhD, said.

Aniston is currently engaged to actor Justin Theroux.
