Sergio Garcia Apologizes to Tiger Woods for ‘Fried Chicken’ Comment: Famous Golfers Have History of Feuding with Each Other

Sergio Garcia apologizes for making an alleged racist remark that he would "serve fried chicken" to Tiger Woods in a dinner at the US Open for next month.

Because of the comment, the feud between Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods blazed up again, and these past weeks, the two professional golf players were acting like little boys, hissing at each other, pointing fingers and making jokes about one another. Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods already have a long history of publicly arguing with each other.

It began in August of 2000 when Tiger Woods did not like Sergio Garcia's end-zone dance after beating him in the Battle of Bighorn, an 18-hole match which was made for TV. Since then, the two sparred with each other from time to time. And most recently, their temperamental relationship flamed up during the Players Championship two weeks ago.

Garcia stated that Woods crated a disturbance in the gallery while he was making a shot. The two professional golf players then started to throw disparaging insults and comments at each other, as Wood was the victor of the tournament and Garcia lost during the last few holes.

When a reporter asked Sergio Garcia about why he does not like Woods, he simply answered, 'you can't like everybody.'

Going back to the 'fried chicken' issue, Sergio Garcia already meagerly apologized for his comment on Wednesday morning during a spontaneous news conference at the BMW PGA Championship in England. Tiger Woods didn't find his supposed-to-be-funny remark humorous at all. Woods even wrote a series of Tweets reacting to the 'fried chicken' remark from Sergio Garcia.

''I want to send an unreserved apology. I did not want to offend anyone. My answer was totally stupid and out of place," Garcia said.

"The comment that was made wasn't silly. It was wrong, hurtful and clearly inappropriate..." Tiger Woods then tweeted again with, "I'm confident that there is real regret that the remark was made."

And lastly, he posted this tweet, "The Players ended nearly two weeks ago and it's long past time to move on and talk about golf."

Sergio Garcia is also planning to apologize personally to Woods but the latter's representatives has no answers yet about it.
