GOT7 Becomes First-Ever K-pop Group To Hold Concerts In 4 Cities Of Thailand

After winning the hearts of Australians with their "Global Fan Meeting" in three cities of Australia in April, GOT7 has now cemented its status as one of the most popular K-pop idols in Thailand. The K-pop idol recently concluded its four-city tour of the country making it the first K-pop to make the rounds in all of the key cities.

GOT7 performed to sold out crowds in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Phuket. "GOT7 Thailand Tour-Nestival 2017" performed in a total of five shows in four cities and managed to get iGOT7, the group's official fandom members more excited.

According to Kpop Behind, GOT7 performed hits like "Fly", "Hard Carry", "Paradise", "If you do", and "Never Ever". As a result, JYP Entertainment reps have said that the agency has been receiving inquiries and calls about endorsement deals for the GOT7 members for local Thai brands.

It can be recalled that after releasing their comeback "Flight Log: Arrival," GOT7's popularity has been on a constant uptrend. They are planning to take over Japan with their "GOT7 Arena Special 2017 My Swagger" event at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo. The event will happen this weekend for from June 24-25.

Meanwhile, GOT7's popularity does not exempt its members from criticism from netizens. Most recently, GOT7 member Jackson came under fire for styling his hair in dreadlocks in his latest Pepsi ad. Netizens expressed offense at the K-pop idol's alleged lack of cultural sensitivity for those who belong to the African American culture, Kpopstarz reported.

For his part, GOT7's Jackson defended himself by explaining that he meant no disrespect for the culture in sporting dreadlocks, and said that he used the hairstyle to celebrate the culture. "I made the decision (to wear dreadlocks) because I was too in love with the culture. No matter if it's music wise, people, background or anything, and I truly respect it with my heart. It's a complete misunderstanding," he said.
