New Jersey Sinkhole Swallowed A Man: Was It Really a Sinkhole or Just A Forgotten Basement?

New Jersey Sinkhole in a warehouse in East Rutherford swallowed a man.

Luckily, the man identified as Danny Rodriguez was able to escape from the sinkhole tragedy; he was saved by the forklift he was operating.

Danny Rodriguez, the victim of the New Jersey sinkhole, together with his machinery, fell to the sinkhole filled with a gooey mixture of soy sauce and cooking oil. He narrowly managed to get out from the accident without acquiring any serious injury.

"Fortunately for the operator, the forklift went straight down and didn't tip to the side because then he could have really been hurt," Chief Larry Miranda, the Borough Police Chief stated.

The forklift operator was immediately taken by ambulance to the Hackensack University Medical Center to receive treatment for minor back injury he obtained from the fall.

"He's the best forklift driver we have," said the administrator for AM Express Freight, the company renting the warehouse that stores non-perishable food items like soy sauce and cooking oil. Bronx man Danny Rodriguez had been working for the company for about 30 years.

Witnesses have described the New Jersey sinkhole as 6-10 feet deep and with 40 X 40 ft width. But could it be possible that the New Jersey sinkhole is not a sinkhole at all and perhaps just a forgotten basement of the building?

The Property Manager of the owner of the building said that the sinkhole may have appeared because the reinforced concrete slab foundation had given way over an old and long-forgotten underground room of the structure.

The authorities are now investigating the cause for the New Jersey Sinkhole. They have also said that Units 2,3, 4 and 6 are not allowed to be reoccupied until reports are made.
