Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, NBC, and More Pay Tribute and Benefit Oklahoma Tornado Relief

The Voice mentor Blake Shelton will be organizing a benefit concert with NBC in an effort to help and benefit victims of the recent tornado disaster in his home state, Oklahoma.

Just last night, at the opening of The Voice results show, Oklahoma native Blake Shelton sang an emotional ballad with his wife, fellow country singer Miranda Lambert. The two dedicated the song, "Over You," to the tornado victims in Oklahoma.

After the show, Blake Shelton made the announcement about his partnership with NBC to create a benefit concert for the same cause.

Although only few details are known, Blake Shelton was hopeful about the progress of the concert and told Billboard on Tuesday, "We'll know more about it in the next 24 hours."

He looked forward to the concert and shared, "I'm hoping it will raise a lot of money. Obviously it will be televised and will happen really quickly."

Blake Shelton says that he will very likely collaborate with other famous singers, as he hinted "I can call in some really big favors."

Possible collaborators may include, but are not limited to, fellow coaches on The Voice (Adam Levine, Usher, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green) and other singers who are connected to Oklahoma (Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Trisha Yearwood).

Toby Keith, who is a native of Moore, Oklahoma, is also in the process of planning a benefit project. Keith's sister and her home were affected by the tornado.

Other than public figures, businesses and organizations in Oklahoma and the rest of the country are lending their hand to assist the victims of the tornado.

Companies including Wal-Mart, Chase, and Verizon Wireless have pledged financial donations and will work together with consumers to increase support for the Oklahoma residents in recovering their homes.

These fundraising efforts will be crucial to rebuilding homes, schools, and hospitals that were destroyed by the tornado. There were also at least 24 victims who were killed in the disaster.
