'Hangover 3' Hits Theaters: Reviews Criticize the R-rated Comedy as ‘Worse than the Second’ and ‘Weakest of the Three Films’ [VIDEO]

Just released in theaters on Monday, Hangover 3, which was advertised as the "Epic Finale to the Hangover Trilogy," appeared to have lost its comedic touch with the audience, as critics and fans have reviewed the R-rated film as "dull," "lazy," and "weakest of the three films."

The Hangover Part III reunited actors Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, and Zach Galifianakis for a day of debauchery in Las Vegas. Supposed to be a promising finish to the trilogy of The Hangover films, The Hangover Part III was unfortunately met with overwhelming negative reactions once again.

Reviews in response to the film's predecessor, the second film of the trilogy, were scathing and critical, and critics seem to be even less fond of the latest sequel.

Stephen Holden of The New York Times wrote, "These superannuated party animals try vainly to stir up some enthusiasm during a return visit to Las Vegas, the site of the first Hangover movie. But their heart isn't in it."

He called Hangover 3 a "dull, lazy walkthrough" and says that the film could very well be this year's "worst star-driven movie."

Several critics also said that Hangover 3 left young viewers disappointed and only made minimal success with even its "diehard" fans. While the audience anticipated comedic, crude humor that made the first film so popular, Hangover 3 was said to be "tasteless" and uninteresting.

Stephen Farbor in The Hollywood Reporter said, "Young viewers looking for unbridled raunch will be sadly disappointed, and so will other moviegoers expecting more than a few wan chuckles. This picture is like a brightly colored balloon with all the comic air seeping out."

Critics could not help but say that Hangover 3 was "too tame," and could not wrap up the trilogy in a satisfying way. Claudia Puig of USA Today thought it was more of a "road movie with action elements" rather than a comedy, since the debauchery of the first two Hangover films were no longer present.

It seems that Hangover 3 will not be as exciting and "epic" as the production team claims it will be. See below for the film's latest trailer.
