Super Junior's Heechul had recently shared an interesting fact about himself on an episode of 2TV's 'Pot Stand' which further lead him into discussing how netizens and jjirashi create fake rumors and spread them so quickly.
During the broadcast, Heechul discussed how he heard horrible rumors of idol 'A' being gay. It turns out as he continued to read the rumors online, he discovered it was about himself since he hasn't been dating for so long!
"It's been awhile since I've dated. Recently, I read jjirashi (chat room rumors) about me being gay. I was reading the rumors and was like 'Daebak' and was wondering who the celebrity 'A' was but it actually turned out to be me. After reading that I realized that 99 out of the 100 jjirashis are fake."
They laughed and the reporter reassured Heechul by saying, "I haven't heard any rumors about you. It's weird." The reporter also continued to reveal to Heechul that jjirashis, which are usually malicious chat room comments in Korea, are often fake or hype up their stories with exaggerated evidence and details that were never there to begin with.
"The jjirashis on social media are exaggerated for fun. If 'A' and 'B' have a meal together, things are added onto the fact," said the reporter. What do you think about the idea of netizens and jjirashis extending the truth?
