After Brad Pitt Coldly Slams Marriage To Jennifer Aniston, Friend Of Brad Says The Two Are "Very Good Friends!" Do We Actually Believe That Brad?[VIDO]

A pal of Brad Pitt's says that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are indeed very good firends friends. Longtime makeup artist and friend jean Black insists the exes are friends and says when Brad is talking about his past, he doesn't mean to drag Jen down with him and the two happen to be "very good firends." Do you believe this "friendship" exists or is Brad doing major damage control?

Black, close friend of Brad Pitt, sheds new light on Pitt's legendary meeting with Angelina Jolie on the 2004 set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

"I think Brad was ready to soar when he met Angie," says Black, who then quickly clarified of Aniston, whom Pitt divorced in 2006: "This is not to say anything negative about Jennifer. I was part of that and I know that he and Jennifer are very good friends and he cared deeply for her."

"But in Angie," Black continued, "he saw a very adventurous person who was grabbing on to life and taking it to its nth degree. It was intriguing because I felt Brad had that in him and wanted to unleash it."

The comments seem to be damage control from the public backlash at Brad's harsh statements towards Jen in Esquire Magazine. His mean words were deemed inappropriate and unnecessary.

Brad Pitt opens up to Esquire Magazine about what we already have known for years about his time with Jen. "For a long time I thought I did too much damage-drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired," he said. "I spent years f-ing off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany."

Brad didn't exactly name names but he really didn't have to. The world is educated enough to know he is talking about his marriage to Jennifer Aniston. The tongue and cheek comments were tacky and unclassy.  Is it necessary for Brad to throw daggers at Jen after all these years?

The 49-year-old actor previously spilled to Parade Magazine in September 2011. Pitt stated that he was finally satisfied thanks to Jolie, and prior to that, he'd been in a drug-fueled haze with Aniston.

"I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself," he said. "I think that my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

The former couple have spoken about each other in the media for years now. Aniston once said that Pitt lacked a "sensitivity chip" when he posed for a steamy W shoot with Jolie months after they were officially divorced. She also famously commented about Brad's bleached blonde hair he was sporting at the time, quipping, "Billy Idol called. He wants his look back."

But that was the last comment the pair had stated about their relationship, until now. First with Brad's comments, now with his makeup artist's.

Angelina Jolie has stayed mostly tight lipped about Brad and Jen's marriage but did famously state that she "couldn't wait" to get to set while shooting "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

DO you believe that Brad and Jen are friends? Or is Brad just trying to clean up with public image that was tarnished after mocking America's sweetheart?
