How Does 2AM's Jo Kwon Say Goodbye to JYP Entertainment After 16 Years?

According to the former member of 2AM JoKwon, "it is time for change." On September 22nd, the idol has officially announced his departure from JYP Entertainment.

Back in 2008, 2AM was born. Being the ballad-oriented counterpart of their brother group 2PM, the boys have been going at it for roughly 7 years before two members, Seulong and Jinwoon left back in March of 2015. Although the group was considered active, the remaining members focused on solo activities instead. "Over The Destiny" was their last popular track.

Although the members reunited in April of this year, the group confirmed its official disbandment after member JoKwon left to pursue his solo career. JYP stated, "Jo Kwon was with JYP Entertainment since 2001, during which he spent the first 7 years as a trainee, and then promoted for the past 9 years after he debuted in 2008. Recently, he and the company spoke about the direction of his career and after doing so, he has decided to start fresh. Although it was a difficult decision as his heart has been with the company for so long, the two parties decided to cheer each other on in their future activities."

Believe it or not, JoKwon has been training and working alongside JYP for years making him somewhat of a prodigy among their company. However, after 16 years of hard work, the idol has decided to another agency (which has not been revealed yet) and left the following Instagram post to also confirm his decision to fans.

What do you think about the shocking announcement? We wish JoKwon lots of luck in his new career path.
