D&E - the subunit of Super Junior composed of Donghae and Eunhyuk - has dropped a new single called "Danger."
The electro-trap track is lifted off their third mini-album of the same name, which arrived last April 15, Monday.
Co-written by J-DUB and Donghae, "Danger" is a departure from the suave and gentlemanly appeal that they are known for. From the teasers to the actual music video of the song, the two K-pop veterans are seen wearing tattoos and dark, edgy ensembles while dancing to sleek and pointy choreography.
Though wrapped with much sonic intensity, the song actually offers an air of optimism through its powerful lyrics. It talks about rising through life's challenges and soldiering on despite all dangers and negativities that surround you.
“Danger," the album, comprises the said titular track alongside six more tunes showcasing the subunit's more mature sound. It includes the new songs "Gloomy," "Dreamer," "Jungle," and "Watch Out."
Completing the tracklist are the Korean versions of D&E's Japanese singles "Sunrise" and "You."
Apart from the their latest EP, the Super Junior subunit also thrilled fans with their first-ever concert as a duo in the South Korean stage. The show, aptly titled The D&E, was held last April 13 and 14 at the Olympic Park in Seoul.
D&E was first formed in 2011, marking the fifth time that their agency, SM Entertainment, created a subunit from the K-pop collective Super Junior.
The dynamic duo was officially launched with the release of their single "Oppa Oppa" in December of the same year. This was followed up by 2013's "Still You."
Since then, they have furthered their musical endeavors in the Asian region, particularly in Japan where they released their Japanese full-length albums "Ride Me" and "Style."
They have also released accolades as a duo, including the 2015's Popularity Award from the Asia Model Awards.
As Super Junior, Donghae and Eunhyuk - together with five more members - have released the album "Play" back in 2017. This marks their first-ever release after the two, plus Shindong and Siwon, finished their mandatory military service. The album spawned the uptempo hit, "Black Suit."
In 2018, the group unveiled a new effort called "One More Time." This is their first full Latin pop album, and it features their collaborative tracks with Latin artists - "One More Time (Otra Vez)" with Reik and "Lo Siento" with Leslie Grace.
