Park Hyung Sik’s Agency Reveals Singer-Actor’s Military Enlistment Date

Park Hyung Sik - one of the hottest names in today's Korean entertainment scene is scheduled to enlist in the military on June 10. This is according to a statement of his agency last April 29.

"Park Hyung Sik is enlisting on June 10.He applied for the personnel department of the Capital Defense Command earlier this year, and he was recently advised of his acceptance," United creator Agency remarked.

They revealed that the singer-turned-actor first received the news on April 26.

Reports have previously stated that the 27-year-old K-pop star successfully passed two rigorous examinations - one held last March, the other on April 9.

Expressing his thanks for the support of his fans, he said, "I'll be healthy and do well in the army. Please don't worry about me; thank you for always supporting me."

As part of his last projects before his military enlistment, Hyung Sik is set to serve as a special host of SBS' variety show, "My Ugly Duckling." He is the youngest star to appear on the said program, which follows the lives of different celebrities with their mothers gathered in and dishing out comments from a studio.

While filming, insiders remarked that the guests, crew, and staff of the show were all impressed by the actor's good looks and more importantly - good manners. Apart from his variety show stint, Hyung Sik will also star in his first feature film, "Jurors." Premiering on May 15, he will play the role of Kwon Nam Woo, an entrepreneur who ends up being one of the eight ordinary citizens who served as jurors for a particular trial.

The star-studded cast will include Moon So Ri, Baek Soo Jang, Kim Mi Kyung, Seo Jung Yeon, Jo Han Chul, Kim Hong Pa, Jo Soo Hyang, and Yoon Kyung Ho.

Hyung Sik first rose to fame as a member of the K-pop boy group ZE:A. His earliest acting stints include his roles in "The Heirs" and "High Society." His popularity in Korea and across Asia skyrocketed with his roles in "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" and "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," wherein he was paired with Park Bo Young.
