MOMOLAND Will Go for a Ballad in May Comeback

After giving K-pop fans across the globe the LSS-inducing "Bboom Bboom" and "Baam," the girls of MOMOLAND will now tone the mood to a more mellow degree in their forthcoming comeback.

As confirmed by a group representative via Xsportsnews, the nine-piece girl group "will be releasing a ballad on May 7. The song is a follow-up to their latest release, "I'm So Hot," which was unveiled earlier in March.

Like in their recent promotions, Taeha and Daisy won't be able to participate due to health and personal reasons. The remaining members of the group -- Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, Daisy, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy -- however, are expected to actively participate in all the K-pop act's activities.

After the song drops on the 7th, MOMOLAND will be flying off to Japan to do a round of promotions on May 10. On the same day, they will also launch the Japanese version of their song "I'm So Hot."

They will also set to bring their newest offering to more areas including the United States, Canada, South America, and Taiwan.

Their upcoming ballad single will be produced by the dynamic duo, Duble Sidekick. Composed of lyricist Park Jang-Geun and composer Kim Jung-Seung, the wide-ranging roster of artists they have previously worked with include Sister, Mamamoo, 2PM, Kara, MBLAQ, T-ara, Girl's Day, Apink, Ailee, and Davichi, among others.

The duo founded the Duble Kick Entertainment, whose subsidiaries include Momoland's agency MLD Entertainment (formerly Duble Kick Company).

MOMOLAND made their debut back in November 2016, with their first-ever EP aptly called "Welcome to Momoland." Only a seven-piece act, Taeha, and Daisy have only added about three months after.

Since then, they have captivated fans and earned following with their uber-catchy tunes and dance craze-worthy choreographies. They have also won several awards, such as the "World Rookie Award" during the 2019 Gaon Chart Music Awards and "Best 3 New Artist (Asia)" during the Japan Golden Disc Award.
