After 16 Years, TVXQ is Finally Coming to Manila

For the Philippine Cassiopeias, TVXQ's Manila debut has long been overdue. But after 16 years, their long wait will finally be over as the K-pop duo is set to perform for a one-night-only concert on July 13.

PULP Live World, the event's producer, made the announcement on April 30 via their social media accounts.

"Over a decade of anticipation will finally wrap up into an in sync nostalgic trip and glorious fresh era of gleaming stages as 동방신기(TVXQ!) embarks to Manila for their highly-requested show!," the company -- which is known as the pioneering entity in bringing K-pop acts to the Philippines -- said in a statement.

"PULP Live World proudly unveils another legendary show that will bear witness to every PH Cassiopeia's dream-come-true-TVXQ! CONCERT - CIRCLE - #with in Manila will happen on July 13, 2019 | 7pm at the Mall of Asia Arena," it added, further revealing details about the hotly-anticipated show.

Tickets will go on sale starting June 2. Other details like prices and seat plans are yet to be announced.

The upcoming concert will serve as their first-ever show in the Philippines since they first debuted.

Formed in 2003, the K-pop act was originally a five-piece group composed of Jung Yunho (U-know Yunho), Shim Changmin (Max Changmin), Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu. The last three members left the boy band to form the trio JYJ.

A talent signed under SM Entertainment, TVXQ found fame through their albums "Tri-angle" and "Rising Sun." They expanded their following across the region and the world, thanks to their award-winning efforts "'O'-Jung.Ban.Hap." and "Mirotic."

It was in 2012 when TVXQ officially released an album as a duo. The record, "Keep Your Head Down," debuted atop the Gaon Albums Chart. They celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2013 with the release of their neo-soul/pop-themed album, "Tense."

Still an active force in the K-pop industry, they commemorated their 15th anniversary with a single and a music video back in December last year. The song called "Truth" features jazz elements and groove-inducing synths that blend well with the duo's melodic vocals.

This offering served as the carrier single of their effort, "New Chapter #2: The Truth of Love" -- which is their follow-up to "New Chapter #1: The Chance of Love," a record they released in March last year.
