New Girl Group Alert: Former PRISTIN Members to Re-Debut

Following their disbandment late last month, former members of K-pop outfit PRISTIN - including Nayoung, Rose, Eunwoo, Yuna, Xiyeon, Rena, and Kyla - are reportedly having plans to re-debut as a new girl group.

According to reports, Nayoung will serve as the leader, with the group welcoming a roster of new K-pop talents as additional members.

PRISTIN first debuted in 2017 under Pledis Entertainment. While the above-mentioned artists left the agency in May, ex-members Yehana, Kyulkyung, and Sungyeon opted to stay.

In a previous statement, Pledis revealed that the three artists who renewed their contracts with them will be given individual and diverse projects.

They also thanked the other PRISTIN members and wished them luck on the new chapter of their career.

As the agency earned ire from fans of the 10-piece for a group, Pledis was quick to say that "a lot of time was given in thinking about [the said] matter." The troupe's disbandment comes only two years after they were launched into the music industry.

"The company and the members had in-depth discussions for a long time and deliberated before coming to a mutual agreement," the company further explained.

Nayoung, reportedly the leader of the new girl group, has previously posted a letter regarding her PRISTIN's disbandment.

"I will become I'm Nayoung who will do my best to grow without forgetting all those who cheered for me on until now," part of her post stated.

Kyla, on the other hand, asked their fans to be grateful still despite the group's disbandment. "While Pristina officially disbanded, I would like to ask you all not to be upset and angry; rather joyous of the memories that we've had together...," she wrote on Instagram.

PRISTIN is known for the hits "Wee Woo," "We," and "We Like." They also made a strong impact upon debut as proven by the recognition they received, including the Asia Artist Awards' Rookie of the Year tilt back in 2017.
