As if "Arthdal Chronicles" couldn't be more star-studded, it has been reported to various media outlets that the fantasy period drama will soon be joined by Blackpink's Jisoo and 2PM's Nichkhun.
Though no specific dates nor roles have been revealed, the K-pop stars have reportedly filmed their appearances on the Saturday-Sunday tvN drama top-billed by Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won, Jang Dong Gun, and Kim Ok Bin.
"It is true that Jisoo will be appearing in the [drama]. We ask that you learn about her role by watching the drama," a source remarked. The Blackpink member's upcoming stint on "Arthdal Chronicles" will mark her first official acting role since she debuted as a K-pop idol.
In 2015, she had a brief cameo role in the KBS2 drama "Producers," which aired in 2015.
During an interview with Billboard magazine, Jisoo's fellow Blackpink members named her as the one most likely to win an Oscar for her acting chops.
On the other hand, a source from JYP Entertainment also confirmed that Nichkhun will also be making an appearance on "Arthdal Chronicles."
“Currently we are unable to reveal information about his role and we ask for your understanding on this," the source further shared. According to various reports, the 2PM member was seen during the wrap-up party of the pre-produced drama.
The Thai-American singer has been dabbling into acting for years now, appearing in dramas and films in Korea, Japan, and China. His acting projects include the 2014 Chinese TV series "One and a Half Summer" and the 2017 JTBC web drama "Magic School."
Both Jisoo and Nichkhun meanwhile have also starred in several variety shows.
"Arthdal Chronicles" premiered on June 1 on tvN and is also available on the streaming platform giant, Netflix. The drama will be aired in three different parts with six episodes each.
The show follows the stories of the mythical heroes who live in the fictional city of Arthdal.
