EXO's Lay to Drop New EP "Honey" on June 14

EXO-Ls, especially the "Xingmis" (fanbase name for Lay), have been well-fed lately, following his sold out solo concerts and the recently-released teaser for his forthcoming "Honey" music video. And a week later, the Mandopop star unveiled the release of the track's official video as well as his new EP with the titular name.

In a Weibo post, Lay wrote:

"New style, sweet attack! Preorders for boss Lay's new EP 'Honey' will open on 6/11 at 10:07 AM CST with a worldwide launch on 6/14. With you, we will sink into the diverse charms of 'Honey' together! Are you ready?"

He also made the announcement on his Twitter and Instagram pages, along with photos of him standing on a pink backdrop while clad in a cornflower-hued satin long sleeves and white beret. Just by looking at the snaps, one could tell that the songs from his upcoming EP will give off delightfulness and sweetness.

Meanwhile, fans' excitement was augmented after QQ Music, one of China's largest music streaming sites, released further details about Lay's new EP. The announcement included the genres the EP tracks will be comprised of.

"Lay's new EP 'Honey' will be open for preorders on 6/11 at 10:07 AM CST and will be released worldwide on 6/14! His new EP will be composed of Funk, Trap, Dance-Pop, Hip Hop, and other music elements. Please look forward to it!" The streaming service said.

Lay released the music video teaser on May 20 on his social sites. In the one-minute clip, Lay was seen entering a hotel room before sitting on the sofa to watch TV for a bit. He stands up and walks towards the bathroom. He takes off his robe, exposing his shoulders. He takes a dip in the bathtub.

What's supposed to be a quiet bath gets interrupted by a bee which seems to take him to another realm.

Meanwhile, Lay will be holding his first-ever solo concert series "Grand Line" in July. Two of the stops, Nanjing and Shanghai, already vended tickets and both sold out in less than a minute - tickets for the Shanghai stop sold out in eight seconds while Nanjing's sold out in 25 seconds.

While EXO PLANET #5: EXplOration is slated to transpire in July as well, it's possible that Lay won't be in the group's concert series as his Nanjing stop will be on July 20, overlapping EP5's second day at the KSPO Dome.
