Other nominees were CLC's "ME" with 5,232 points, and Lovelyz "Beautiful Days" that earned 3,656 points. This achievement is the first time that the rookie group earned an award since its debut on May 22, 2019.
This week's performances also include SAAY's "ZGZG," Rothy's "Bee," Cherry Bullet's "Really Really," Weki Meki's "Picky Picky," CLC's "ME," and many more.
AB6IX is also known as BRANDNEW BOYS during their pre-debut. They are under Brand New Music, a South Korean company that focuses more on hip-hop acts than pop ones. Their name is a short term for "Absolute Six," which refers to the absolute perfection they can achieve if the five members and the fans are together. In addition to this, AB6IX is also an abbreviation of "ABOVE BRANDNEW SIX," which expresses the hopes that all members and the fandom will open up new extents for Brand New Music.
The boy group's members are Lim Young Min (the leader), Jeon Woong (main vocalist), Kim Dong Hyun (visual), Park Woojin (main rapper and main dancer), and Lee Dae Hwi (maknae). The boys' debut mini-album is "B: Complete" with "Breathe" as the title track. The song "Breathe" is about how the music allows AB6IX to breathe through its beat and rhythm.
The album has seven tracks including "Absolute," "Shining Stars," "Breathe," "Friend Zone," "Light Me Up," "Dance For Two," and "Hollywood." The performance video for the latter was unveiled before their album, on April 25, 2019.
The seven-track extended play features a variety of songs, from chic urban, hip hop to modern rock. The best part is the members contributed it in making the album, from writing and composing to producing the songs, to working on their performances.
Furthermore, the deep house genre track "Breathe" was co-written and co-composed by AB6IX member Lee Dae Hwi, who is recognized for his production skills. Lee Dae Hwi is already familiar to many as he is a former member of Wanna One along with Park Woo Jin.
During their debut showcase in Seoul, the boys revealed their official fan club name, ABNEW. The fans are considered as the sixth member that will walk a new path with the fivesome.
AB6IX is then announced to have a fan meet tour across Asia, which is scheduled to kick off from July to August. Their stopovers include Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Thailand. The ticket prices and selling are set to be revealed in the coming weeks from June, so ABNEW get ready!
